Hi Reader, In my last email, I asked what you most want for yourself in 2027. A few wrote back about submitting their writing, traveling, attending retreats or conferences, and improving sales. I loved these answers because they varied so much. It solidifies for me the idea that everyone is on a different but parallel path. I promised to share my answer too, so here it is: Growth and advancement. What does growth and advancement look like for Audrey?
And number 3... Well, like I said in the last email, this summer's roofing experience acted as a catalyst for so much change for me. I'm not changing in terms of writing fiction or continuing to create my planners. The change is that... I've decided how important it is for me to pursue the things I've long dreamed of doing... but always thought I was too old ( I'm over waiting for the perfect time. What if "the perfect time" is now and I don't even realize it? So what is this mysterious number 3?
What does this dream of being a card-carrying AIA member have to do with writing? A lot, actually 😅 I believe it will help position me for a 'yes' with the type of series I plan to pitch next to my publisher. I also firmly believe that all research and writing helps us exercise our writing muscles in ways that benefit all areas/types of writing. And this new path includes the task/project of writing a paper on technical methodologies regarding a historical topic/location in my local area and submitting it for peer review and publication. Okay, I'm sure I've bored you all to tears with my eclectic nonsense 🤣 Let's get back to how I want to help you today. Before 2027 gets here, let's talk about what you plan to do with the rest of this year. There are roughly 11 weeks left in 2026. That's enough time to finish something, make a huge chunk of progress, or hit an important project milestone. It's not enough time to finish everything. So here's the exercise I'd walk you through if we were sitting down together (coffee? tea? water?).
My personal 2026 finish line:
Hit reply and tell me your 2026 finish line goal. I'd love to cheer for you! 🙌 Warmest Wishes, Audrey P.S. When you're ready to plan 2027, remember that preorders for The 2027 Author's Planner are open, with bonuses available through October 31st. |
Audrey Hughey designs planners, writes fiction, and works diligently to help her fellow authors. Although she currently writes horror and thrillers, she’s as eclectic in her writing as in her reading. When she’s not submerged in the worlds of fiction and planning, she’s caring for her family, enjoying nature, or finding more ways to bring a little more light into the world.
Hi Reader, I’m writing today to say thank you. Thank you for subscribing to my newsletter. Thank you for sticking with me, whether you’ve been here for years or for weeks. Thank you for choosing my planners. And thank you for reading these words I pour onto the digital page, sometimes light, and sometimes with gravity and vulnerability. I know that you have choices, and I appreciate that, at some point, you’ve chosen me and my work. Now, this may sound crazy. And any “coach” would want to...
Hi Reader, It's been quiet in your inbox (at least from me 😅) for a while. Summer didn't go how I thought it would (vehicle problems that threw a wrench - get it? - into the plans). When I finally got to Michigan, I spent ~ 2 weeks helping put a new roof on my childhood home. Yes, that's right. I did roofing (first time ever) this summer. And actually, I'm so glad that I did. Not only did I get to be there for my family and help with something so important, but I regained confidence in...
Hey Reader, Have you felt tired lately? I don't mean just a little tired. I mean, like, weary tired. The kind you feel in your bones. The kind that saps away your mental energy too. It can come from being overworked, overstimulated, and overburdened. Add it to sleep debt and a lack of (real) breaks, and life can feel more difficult than it needs to. And all of these factors piled on your back can drag down your motivation and sense of progress. One missed day of writing can easily become two,...
